This page will be of help if you’re not achieving good results when you’re routing Woods, MDF, Laminates, Ply or Foam. By following the advice offered, you will get better results, less waste and improved cutter life.
One of the biggest benefits of putting a computerised router to work for you and your business is the amount of time it can save you that you’d otherwise pay for in manually finishing the work you produce. The less time you spend finishing cut edges and dressing surfaces the more profitable you become - it’s that simple.
We’ve got a novel cutter in our range that’ll help you reduce or even eliminate manual finishing when you’re cutting a wide range of materials and, in particular laminate materials including birch ply. What’s it do? It leaves both of the material’s faces and its cut edges in ready-to-go condition without further sanding or finishing.
Our CC800 Compression Cutter is an unusual looking cutter because it has both an upward twist on its flutes, or cutting edges, and a downward one too. So when it’s cutting, part of the cutter is lifting waste and the material’s edge, and the other is pushing in the opposite direction effectively compressing the material as it’s being cut. What that means is no more lifted or ripped grain edges or chipped edges. It means you can use what you’ve cut straight off the bed of the router and that saves you time.
Our Compression Cutter range is available with our NEW Tekcelex performance enhancing coating, the CC800DC. This process extends the cutting tool’s life and yields simply brilliant cut edges further enhanced by the cutter’s design. So if you’re cutting abrasive fire retardant MDF, Ply and Laminates or simply dealing with big volumes of all of these, you’ll produce more high value results and less costly waste.
We supply our CC800 & CC800DC Compression Cutters in a range of sizes and we’ll train you in its use too. It doesn’t work the way other cutters do, but you’d expect that - the results it delivers are like nothing you’ve seen before either.
